According to a recent report by Hippo Insurance, in 2021, a whopping 68 percent of homebuyers paid above asking price when purchasing a home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is often referred to as \u201cpanic buying\u201d and in a market like this it can be easy for new homebuyers to end up over their budget and house poor. The Hippo survey sound that 81 percent of recent first-time homebuyers had unexpected repairs in the first year. As an example, depending on where the home is located you may need to carry <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gethomeinsurancequotes.com\/flood-insurance\/\">flood insurance<\/a> coverage or coverage may be more expensive than you think due to wildfire or weather risks.
