Hurricane Ida hit Louisiana with 150 mph winds as it tore through the state, making landfall at Port Fourchon and moving up the state between Baton Rouge<\/a> and New Orleans<\/a>. Disaster modeling firms have put the damages between $14 billion and $31 billion.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Louisiana Department of Insurance offered homeowners the following tips to help deal with cleanup and for dealing with insurance claims due to damage to their homes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
